About Honestly

Honestly is building the largest verified database of human opinions. We read the full story behind public posts, videos, communities, and reviews, then organize what people think by product and attribute. Every opinion stays connected to its creator and source.

Marketing teams use that evidence to understand the story already forming around a product. Partnerships teams use it to find creators with real product fluency and inspect where public links send demand. Product teams use it to find repeated praise, friction, and trade-offs that a rating cannot explain.

We are a small team of AI engineers and e-commerce operators. The company was founded by childhood friends Paolo Shamoon and Kalvin Kazemi after they built TradeUp, a marketplace that grew past 20,000 completed trades.

The role

This role sits beside the founders and works wherever the company’s most important problem currently lives. Some weeks that will mean making a customer project run on time. Others will involve preparing a key meeting, fixing an operating process, shaping a new hire, or turning a vague idea into a decision the team can act on.

We are not looking for someone who only coordinates other people’s work. You will make the plan, do the work that should not be delegated, bring in the right owner, and follow the result until it is real.

The right person likes a wide field of view, notices what others have missed, and can move from a customer call to a financial model to a recruiting process without losing the thread.

What you will own

  • Keep the company’s priorities honest. Turn founder discussions into a small set of clear commitments, owners, and dates, then surface drift early.
  • Run cross-company work. Lead important projects that cut across customers, product, data operations, sales, hiring, and finance.
  • Prepare high-stakes decisions. Gather the facts, make the trade-offs visible, write the recommendation, and make sure the decision does not disappear after the meeting.
  • Improve how the team operates. Build lightweight systems for planning, communication, follow-up, and information flow. Remove a process when it no longer earns its cost.
  • Take care of the details that compound. Own scheduling, logistics, documents, and follow-through when those details protect founder time or customer trust.
  • Pick up the problem without an owner. When something is important and ambiguous, move first. Define it, solve what you can, and recruit help where you need it.

You may be a fit if

  • You have roughly 3 to 8 years of experience in a demanding operating environment such as a startup, investing, consulting, or an unusually broad role inside a growing company.
  • You have taken ambiguous projects from a blank page to a finished result and can explain the judgment calls you made along the way.
  • Your writing is direct and precise. You can reduce a complicated situation to the facts, the decision, and what happens next.
  • You are organized because you care about outcomes, not because you enjoy adding process. People trust that your commitments will not vanish.
  • You are comfortable doing small, unglamorous tasks when they are the thing standing between the team and a larger result.
  • You handle sensitive customer, company, and personal information with care and discretion.
  • You want to work with the team in San Francisco. This is an on-site role because the work depends on fast context and close collaboration with the founders.

What Honestly offers

  • A salary range of $70,000 to $90,000, plus meaningful equity. Final compensation depends on experience and scope.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage, with the exact plan details shared during the process.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • Daily access to the founders, the customers, and the decisions that shape an early company.
  • A hard, useful mission: make product decisions more human without asking anyone to trust a black box.
